Couple of ProTek Devices’ TVS Component Solutions Have Updated Data Sheets

ProTek Devices has released new data sheets with updated specifications for its DSL03-24 steering diode / transient voltage suppressor (TVS) array and for its GBLC03 – GBLC24C family of TVS arrays.

ProTek Devices’ PP-SM series are thyristor surge suppression (TSS) devices designed to protect telecommunications equipment against lightning and electrical fast transients induced by AC power lines. Telecommunications applications include T1/E1 trunk and line cards, SCLIC line cards, DBX branch exchange switches, FCC part 68 customer premise equipment (CPE), line interface modems, and xDSL architecture interfaces. The bidirectional configuration of these TSS devices provides circuit protection for both positive and negative transients and the discrete surface mount package allows for individual placement of the device on line cards or other locations where multiple component devices do not offer the versatile in-board trace layout. This series can be used to provide protection in accordance with industry standards such as FCC Part 68, ANSI C62.41, UL 1459, GR-1089-CORE, IEC 61000-2, IEC 61000-4 and IEC 61000-4-5 requirements. It is RoHS and REACH compliant. The package is a molded plastic DO-214AA package with an approximate weight of only 0.095 grams. It also features lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The flammability rating is UL 94V-0. ProTek Devices’ GBLCxx and GBLCxxC series are ultra-low capacitance (3pF [typical]) TVS arrays designed to protect applications such as Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T, smartphones, handheld wireless systems and other portable electronics, and USB interfaces. This series is available in both unidirectional and bidirectional configurations and is rated at 350 watts peak pulse power per line for an 8/20μs waveshape. The GBLCxx and GBLCxxC series meets IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (surge) standards requirements. At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern and this series helps resolve such concerns. It’s an ideal replacement for a multi-layer varistors (MLV) (0805). It protects one power or I/O port and ESD protection is > 25kV. The GBLCxx and GBLCxxC series also has a low clamping voltage and is available in multiple voltages ranging from 3V to 24V. It is also RoHS and REACH compliant. Mechanical characteristics include a molded JEDEC SOD-323 package with an approximate weight of only 5 milligrams. It also boasts lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The flammability rating is UL 94V-0.
