We have an updated data sheet for ProTek Devices’ DFN6-36, a multi-line transient voltage suppressor (TVS) array. This device provides protection against damaging effects of ESD and EFT. The DFN6-36 is available in a unidirectional configuration with a working voltage of 33V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 35V. It is rated for 300 Watt peak pulse power using the 8/20μs waveform, which is sufficient protection for tertiary type lightning threats at key interface locations. At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern. This device in conjunction with passive components integrated into a TVS/filter network can be used for EMI/RFI protection.
Other features include compatibility with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air – 15kV, Contact – 8kV; with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns; and with IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 12A, 8/20μs – Level 1 (Line-Gnd) & Level 2 (Line-Line). The DFN6-36 can also accommodate 200 Watts peak pulse power per Line (tp = 1.2/50μs). ESD Protection is > 25 kilovolts. The device has low clamping voltage and protects up to three data lines. The DFN6-36 is RoHS and REACH compliant.
Typical applications for the DFN6-36 include: digital sensor I/O ports; control and monitoring systems; portable electronics; and 36 Volt DC protection. The device is also suited to protect data lines against ESD and EFT. Download the data sheet here.
