Data Sheet Updates for Multiple ProTek Devices TVS Arrays / Components

so16_picThree data sheets for ProTek Devices transient voltage suppressor (TVS) arrays / components series have recently been updated. They include the SMDA03LC – SMDA24LCC TVS arrays, the SM16LC03 – SM16LC36C TVS arrays, and the SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A TVS components.

SMDA03LC – SMDA24LCC
The SMDAxxLC and SMDAxxLCC series are low capacitance multi-line TVS arrays. They provide board level protection for standard TTL and MOS bus line applications. This protection is against the damaging effects of ESD, tertiary lightning and switching transients. The SMDAxxLC/LCC series has a peak pulse power rating of 500 Watts for an 8/20μs waveshape.

Key applications also include computer interfaces; Ethernet (10/100/1000 Base T); test and measurement equipment; and industrial control (low voltage sensors).

Other key features include compatibility with several IEC standards. They are IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air – 15kV, Contact – 8kV, IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns, and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 12A, 8/20μs – Level 1(Line-Gnd) & Level 2(Line-Line). The devices feature unidirectional and bidirectional configurations. Multiple voltages ranging from 3V to 24V are available and the parts protect up to four lines. ProTek Devices SO-8 Package

SM16LC03 – SM16LC36C
The SM16LCxx and SM16LCxxC series are low capacitance multi-line TVS arrays. They provide board level protection for standard TTL and MOS bus line applications. This is against the damaging effects of ESD, tertiary lightning and switching transients. This series has a peak pulse power rating of 500 Watts for an 8/20μs waveshape.

Key applications also include wireless communication circuits; RS-422, RS-432 and RS-485; low voltage ASICs; and Ethernet interfaces.

Other key features include compatibility with several IEC standards. They are IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): Air – 15kV, Contact – 8kV, IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns, and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 12A, 8/20μs – Level 1(Line-Gnd) & Level 2(Line-Line). The devices offer unidirectional and bidirectional configurations. They also provide ESD protection of > 25 kilovolts. Available multiple voltages ranging from 3.3V to 36V, the parts protects up to eight lines. They also feature low capacitance of 15pF and are RoHS and REACH compliant.

Key mechanical characteristics include a molded JEDEC SO-16 package and an approximate weight of 0.15 grams. The series also has lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The parts carry a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. ProTek Devices DO-214 Package

SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A
ProTek Devices’ SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A are 1,500 Watt (peak pulse power per line [tp = 10/1000μs]) TVS components. They are ideal to provide circuit protection in power supplies, AC/DC applications and telecommunications equipment.

The parts are compatible with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge). They are glass passivated chips and feature low leakage current. Other key features include bidirectional and unidirectional configurations along with excellent clamping capability. They provide a very fast response time and also are RoHS and REACH compliant.

The components are offered in a molded JEDEC DO-214AB package and have an approximate weight of 0.248 grams. They have lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed). The solder reflow temperature (pure-tin – Sn, 100) is 260-270 degrees Celsius. The terminal is solderable per MIL-STD-750, Method 2026. The parts carry a flammability rating of UL 94V-0.
