ProTek Devices’ Flip Chip TVS Array and AC Power Line Surge Suppressor Data Sheets Updated

ProTek Devices has provided an update to two data sheets. One updated data sheet is for a flip chip TVS array and the other is for an AC power line surge suppressor.

PKFC3.3C – PKFC36C
The PKFCxxC series of encapsulated flip chips employ advanced silicon P/N junction technology for unmatched board-level transient voltage circuit protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electrical fast transients (EFT). Developed specifically for high-density circuit protection, this series meets IEC 61000-4-2 and 61000-4-4 standards requirements. They offer protection for one line. These devices are ideally suited for handheld devices like smartphones, PCMCIA and smartcards, MCM boards, wireless communications circuits and IR LEDs.

This series provides ESD protection greater than 25 kilovolts with a peak pulse power dissipation of 250 watts per line for an 8/20μs waveform. In addition, the PKFCxxC series features superior clamping performance, low leakage current characteristics and a response time of less than a nanosecond. Their low inductance virtually eliminates overshoot voltage due to package inductance. They are available in voltages ranging from 3.3 to 36 volts. They offer bidirectional configuration and a monolithic structure. The parts are RoHS and REACH compliant.

The chip scale package is 0.050” x 0.030” and the components are offered in a molded DFN-2 package configuration. They have an approximate weight of just 0.73 milligrams. Other mechanical features include lead-free plating and a solder reflow temperature (lead-free – Sn/Ag/Cu, 96/3.5/0.5) of 260-270 degrees Celsius. The parts have a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The 587BxxxLP series of 120 volt AC surge suppressors is designed for use by OEMs, equipment installers and / or maintenance contractors. These modules employ a three-stage technology proven to be the most cost effective and reliable method in protecting sensitive electronic equipment from overvoltage transients. This series is designed to protect hardwired AC powered equipment from the 6,000 volt peak open circuit voltage and 3,000 amp short circuit current as defined in ANSI/IEEE C62.41, category C1. It is also ideal for load side distribution systems and as secondary protection for light industrial AC power.

The 587BxxxLP series offers a high degree of protection against 120 VAC electromagnetic interference (EMI) line noise. It is ideal for protecting 400 volt components because the solid state transient voltage suppressor (TVS) technology assures that the line-to-neutral voltage will not exceed 400 Volts. While the modules are designed for transient voltage protection, the advanced circuitry will also attenuate the amplitude and slow the rate of rise of high frequency noise acting as an EMI filter. The 587BxxxLP series includes differential mode protection, which is effective in reducing interference from line to equipment and are effective in reducing equipment generated noise to meet FCC, VDE and CSA interference requirements. In addition, the series is compatible with IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge): 1kA, 8/20μs, Level 4 (Line-Gnd) & 333A, Level 4 (Line-Line). It is listed to CSA, file LR65240. The series also features differential and common mode protection, a low clamping voltage, and nanosecond response time. It has finger safe connections. The series is made for a long life and maintenance free care.
