ProTek Devices’ TVS Components for Circuit Protection in Power Supplies and More Get Updated Data Sheets

do214aa_picProTek Devices has updated data sheets for its SMAJ5.0CA and SMAJ36A 400 watt transient voltage suppressor (TVS) components and for its SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A 1,500 watt TVS components. All parts are well suited for circuit protection in power supplies, AC/DC, and telecommunications applications.

SMAJ5.0CA and SMAJ36A
The SMAJ5.0CA and SMAJ36A boast meeting several IEC standards. They include compatibility with 61000-4-2 (ESD); 61000-4-4 (EFT) and 61000-4-5 (surge). The family consists of four components with different reverse stand-off voltages offered. The SMAJ5.0CA is 5.0 volts; SMAJ28CA is 28.0 volts; the SMAJ33A is 33.0 volts; and the SMAJ36A is 36.0 volts. The parts are glass passivated chips offering 400 watts of peak pulse power per Line (tp = 10/1000μs). They also feature low leakage current and bidirectional and unidirectional configurations. They have excellent clamping capabilities and offer very fast response times. The parts are also RoHS and REACH compliant.

The SMAJ5.0CA and SMAJ36A are provided in a molded JEDEC DO-214AC package with an approximate weight of just 0.06 grams. It comes with lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed). The solder reflow temperature is (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The terminals can be soldered per MIL-STD-750, method 2026 and the parts carry a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A feature compatibility with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), 61000-4-4 (EFT), and 61000-4-5 (surge). The SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ36A are also glass passivated chips offering 1,500 watts peak pulse power per Line (tp = 10/1000μs). This family consists of five parts with various reverse stand-off voltages. They include the SMCJ5.0C and SMCJ5.0CA at 5.0 volts. The SMCJ5.0C has a maximum breakdown voltage of 7.30 volts while the SMCJ5.0CA is at 7.00 volts. The rated stand-off voltage of the other parts include the SMCJ26A at 26.0 volts; the SMCJ33A at 33.0 volts; and the SMCJ36A at 36.0 volts. All parts provide low leakage current and bidirectional and unidirectional configurations. They also offer excellent clamping capabilities and very fast response times. The parts are all RoHS and REACH compliant.
