ProTek Devices Updates Data Sheets for TVS Arrays; Provide Circuit Protection in Automotive, Smartphones, Etc.

psd05hp_prProTek Devices has updated data sheets for its GBLC05CDN – GBLC24CDN and PAM08SD2324C transient voltage suppressor (TVS) arrays that deliver circuit protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and more.

The GBLCxxCDN series deliver multiple ultra-low capacitance 3pF (typical) TVS arrays designed for circuit protection in smartphones and other portable electronics, Ethernet 10/100/1000 base T, USB interfaces and more. This series is available in a bidirectional configuration and is rated at 350 watts for an 8/20 micro amps waveshape. The GBLCxx and GBLCxxC series meets IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT), and IEC 61000-4-5 (surge) standards requirements. At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern. These components address this concern. This series is a good replacement for MLV (0805) and low leakage current in a miniature DFN-2 package. It protects one power or I/O port and delivers ESD protection of > 25kV. The series also offers a low clamping Voltage and multiple voltages ranging from 5V to 24V.

The molded JEDEC DFN-2 package has an approximate weight of just 0.8 milligrams. It features lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The series has a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. PAM08SD2324C
The PAM08SD2324C is a TVS array designed for ESD (> 25kV) protection in automotive applications. The silicon based diode offers superior clamping voltage and performance compared to other technologies, such as MLVs. The PAM08SD2324C can be utilized as a single line protector – one power or I/O port – in a bidirectional configuration. The SOD-323 small package configuration offers designers the flexibility of placement on the printed circuit board for each I/O port or voltage bus. The PAM08SD2324C meets the IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD), 61000-4-4 (EFT) and 61000-4-5 requirements. It is also AEC-Q101 qualified. Available in 24 volts, the PAM08SD2324C delivers 400 watts peak pulse power per line (tp = 8/20 micro amps).
