Updated Specifications for 2 ProTek Devices Automotive TVS Arrays

gblc_cdn_prProTek Devices recently updated its data sheets for the PAM08SD2312C and PAM18DF2L0521 transient voltage suppressors (TVS) arrays, of which both parts are well suited for circuit protection in automotive applications.

PAM08SD2312C
The PAM08SD2312C is a TVS array designed for automotive ESD protection. ESD protection is > 25kV. These silicon based diodes offer superior clamping voltage and performance compared to other technologies, such as MLVs (0805). Maximum clamping voltage is 19.0 volts at IP = 1A. Rated stand-off voltage is 12.0, minimum breakdown voltage is 13.3 at 1mA. Maximum leakage current is 1 microampere and typical capacitance is 50pF. The PAM08SD2312C can be used as a single line protector in a bidirectional configuration. This TVS array is compatible with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): air – 15kV, contact – 8kV; with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT): 40A – 5/50ns; and with IEC 61000-4-5 (surge): 24A, 8/20 micro second level 2 (line-gnd) and level 3 (line-line). It boasts 400 watts peak pulse power per line (tp = 8/20 micro seconds). The PAM08SD2312C is RoHS and REACH compliant.

The molded JEDEC SOD-323 small package configuration offers designers the flexibility of placement on the printed circuit board for each I/O port or voltage bus. It has an approximate weight of only 5 milligrams. Other mechanical characteristics include lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed), a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius and a flammability rating of UL 94V-0. The PAM18DF2L0521 is an ultra-low capacitance (0.4 pF [typical]) TVS array, designed to protect automotive applications from the damaging effects of electrostatic discharge and electrical fast transients. An AEC-Q101-qualified device, it is also compatible with IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD): air 15kV, contact 8kV; with IEC 61000-4-4 (EFT); and with IEC 61000-4-5 (surge). At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern. The PAM18DF2L0521 is ideal for addressing such concerns. It protects one bidirectional line and features 80 watts peak pulse power per line (tp = 8/20 micro seconds). Rated stand-off voltage is 5.0, minimum breakdown voltage is 6.0, maximum leakage current is 1 microampere. The part is also RoHS and REACH compliant.

The PAM18DF2L0521 is provided in a molded miniature JEDEC DFN-2-0402 package with an approximate weight of just 2 milligrams. It features lead-free pure-tin plating (annealed) and a solder reflow temperature of (pure-tin – Sn, 100) 260-270 degrees Celsius. The flammability rating is UL 94V-0.
