RSB6.8B Bidirectional TVS  in SOD-323 Package

Tempe, Ariz., November 20, 2007 - ProTek Devices introduces the RSB6.8B transient voltage suppressor array.  This device is designed to protect applications such as wireless telecommunications devices, PCMCIA cards and portable electronics such as PDAs and digital cameras.  The RSB6.8B is available in a bidirectional configuration with a working voltage of 4.7V and a minimum breakdown voltage of 5.4V.  It is rated for 10W peak pulse power using the 10/1000µs surge waveform, which is sufficient protection for tertiary type lightning threats at key interface locations.  The RSB6.8B offers one line of bidirectional protection.

The RSB6.8B is ideally suited to protect 5VDC lines and data I/O ports against ESD and EFT.  This device meets the requirements of IEC 61000-4-2 (ESD) and 61000-4-4 (EFT).  At higher operating frequencies or faster edge rates, insertion loss and signal integrity are a major concern.  This device in conjunction with a passive component integrated into a TVS/Filter network can be used for EMI/RFI protection.

Packaged in the standard SOD-323 package, this device can be substituted for similar 0803 outline configurations.  The RSB6.8B should be placed near a connector or a sensitive IC component.

Sample quantities are available upon request.  Pricing is $0.27 each in quantities of 3,000 pieces.  SPICE model and parameters are available for circuit simulation on request

Application

A typical application showing three of the RSB6.8B TVS diodes providing differential and common mode protection to a line driver to protect from switching transients as well as EFT that may exist on the input.
