Philosophy
Due to environmental concerns, the need
for lead-free materials in electronic components and systems is
receiving increasing attention within the semiconductor and electronics
industries. ProTek Devices is committed to working with our
customers to offer products that meet those specific needs. ProTek
Devices has offered "lead free" products since 2003. ProTek
Devices offers 100% tin (Sn) plating as well as NiPdAu plated devices.
These devices are designated with the suffix -LF and -P respectively.
As of July 5, 2006 all TVS Diode Arrays will only be offered in
Lead-Free configurations for all new orders. In some cases there
may be leaded stock available - contact factory for more information.
These products are identified as "lead
free" as defined in the European Union's RoHS directive 2002/95/EC and
are compatible with the current RoHS requirements for all six banned
substances, including the requirement to be soldered at high
temperatures. ProTek Devices lead free products are suitable for
use in specified lead-free processes. +Click

LEAD FREE CONVERSION
The European Union passed the "Restriction
on Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment"
or RoHS legislation 2002/95/EC on January 27, 2003. This directive
becomes effective on July 1, 2006. ProTek Devices is working
towards converting all product to be RoHS compatible. Many of our
current products meet the threshold limits (see
Certificate of Conformance) of the RoHS requirements.
This is based on ProTek Devices understanding of RoHS requirements and
the information from our vendors, and third party analysis of material
that is used in the manufacture of our products.
